Cautious Care: A Guide for Patients

Close to 100,000 patients die in U.S. hospitals every year from medical errors—more than those who die from auto accidents, AIDS and breast cancer combined, according to the Institute of Medicine. In addition many more people die or are permanently disabled from outpatient care due to: the lack of time for doctors to see and treat patients adequately; the difficulty for doctors to keep up-to-date on the latest medical information; the bureaucracy issues that weigh doctors down and inhibit them from giving patients their best advice; and the list goes on.

We are here to help ensure it does not happen to you or to your family and friends.

The Cautious Patient Foundation is committed to educating and empowering patients or their families in their quest for quality healthcare. With its hands-on, physician-based advice and technology-based tools, the Cautious Patient Foundation is working to ensure that people are engaged and proactive in managing their health and healthcare providers.
